The parade's viewing stand was across the street from the "Glorietta de los Nino's Heroes"
While waiting for the parade to start a very nice couple explained to Lee about how the hero's from the castle Chapultepec near Mexico City had arrived to help stop the Spanish invasion. The "boys" were 18/19 year old young men by today's standards. There heroism is celebrated all over Mexico. Our viewing point was across from the official viewing stand as the route turned the corner. Perfect for photographing the participants. As we waited for the official start the crowd was serenaded by what else but a Mariachi Band. I have to say Mexico is a land of bright colors and friendly people reading to celebrate their home and their customs.
We were used to parades starting with motorcycles, but this was an extra twist.... I wonder if they rode the whole route like this?
The parade was filled with dancers, bands, horses, floats and more...
